GW6-15 Tanami Waterless Urinal Bowl

The GW6-15 Tanami waterless urinal uses the same valve and "snorkel" technology as the popular GW6 cartridge. The urinal is manufactured in ceramic and is suitable for exposed pipework. The Tanami now incorporates the latest version of the GW6-15 valve core with much faster drainage - approximately 12 litres per minute. This allows for more effective sluicing of the waste pipes to keep them even cleaner. Chemical resistance has also been much improved, particularly against bleach, to which silicone valves are particularly vulnerable. The dual valves are now manufactured in a special silicone to reduce the chance of damage from harsh cleaning chemicals, although these are still best avoided in order to maximise the life of the cartridge. 

Note:  The bowl shown in the YouTube video demonstrating the GW6-15 urinal system is not the Tanami.

The urinal is manufactured in ceramic and is suitable for both concealed and exposed pipework. The compact design, projecting only 260mm from the wall, avoids splashback issues by having a deeper than normal bowl,

 GW615 Patagonian Waterless Urinal

The Patagonian now incorporates the latest version of the GW6-15 valve core with much faster drainage - approximately 12 litres per minute. Chemical resistance has also been much improved, particularly against bleach, to which silicone valves are particularly vulnerable. The dual valves are now manufactured in a special silicone to reduce the chance of damage from harsh cleaning chemicals, although these are still best avoided in order to maximise the life of the cartridge. 

Instead of a fluid barrier, the GW6-15 valve uses a silicone double-skirt valve which is tolerant of both water and common cleaning chemicals.

Urine, which is 96% water, flows down the surface of the urinal and into the unique Falcon cartridge. The cartridge is filled with a special liquid called Allseal, which is not only perfumed, but prevents foul air from rising up from the drain and into the washroom. It does this by floating on the surface inside the cartridge and trapping any particles at the cartridge base. Note that the effectiveness of the Allseal sealant can be impaired by sluicing or by incompatible cleaning chemicals, if proper care is not take,  However, there are no mechanical components to go wrong. Regular cleaning consists of spraying on cleaner and wiping it off. Replacing cartridges, a simple job,  has to be carried out every three to four months under average use conditions, but can last from 2 to 12 months, dependent on usage.
